About this project

With its Brazilian Cherry floors, Cherry wood cabinets, and earth-toned tile this home was a sea of reddish-brown and was feeling kind of dreary. The homeowner was ready for a lighter, brighter, happier kitchen and bathrooms.

Because she was happy with the cabinets and their layouts, the rooms only needed to be refreshed. In the kitchen, painting the cabinets and replacing door and drawer fronts were the starting point for a complete transformation. Countertops, backsplash, and cabinet hardware supplied the finishing touches. Behind the scenes, she got soft-close hinges on the doors and full-extension soft-close glides on the drawers for a fully modernized kitchen.

The oversized tub deck in the bathroom had to go, giving way to a larger shower, with a built-in niche for shower products and a beautiful soaking tub.

Finally, the refreshed guest bath is no longer all manner of depressing browns. Even though there are brown shower accents and a brown floor, the guest bath is welcoming with its light and bright finishes.
